The Organ Project’s mission is to save Canadian lives by ending the organ transplant waiting list. We aim to do this by increasing awareness about the importance of organ donor registration. We recognize that our mission is not an easy one to accomplish, and is in fact bigger than any single organization.
That’s why we’re proud to work in partnership with a group of organizations that believe in and support our goals.
Again this season, we are thrilled to partner with The Ottawa Senators to raise awareness and encourage registration for organ donation. In particular, we are really excited to welcome Cody Ceci (#5) as our official ambassador. Born in Ottawa, Cody is a great role model for kids and a positive advocate for organ donation.
The Organ Project will be at the Canadian Tire Centre periodically through the season to cheer on the Senators and share our messages to fans. Please check our event calendar for upcoming dates and events.
The Belleville Senators are a hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL) and the minor-league affiliate of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators. Recently relocated from Binghamption, New York, this is the Belleville Senators first season in Ontario.
The Organ Project is grateful for the support the Belleville Senators have shown us and we look forward to working with the team to expand our in-rink awareness and registration campaign to Belleville and the surrounding area. We also hope that involvement with Belleville will allow us to expand our reach to other Canadian-based AHL teams including the Toronto Marlies
The Ottawa Senators Foundation empowers children and youth to reach their full potential by investing in social recreation and education programs that promote both physical and mental wellness.
In partnership with the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, alumni association, corporate partners and fans, more than $100 million has been contributed to thousands of initiatives and charities in the National Capital Region.
The Ottawa Senators Foundation is another very supportive partner of The Organ Project; together we are working on programs and initiatives in the Ottawa area that will advance organ donation and awareness, particularly for youth. The Ottawa Senators Foundation also played a key role in our WE Day Ottawa 2017 initiative.
The Organ Project is proud to support the University of Toronto Transplant Group’s High School Outreach Initiative (HSOI). The program, which was introduced in Toronto in 2012, was established by transplant specialists at three of Canada’s largest transplant centres: the Hospital for Sick Children (HSC), St Mike’s Hospital, and the University Health Network (UHN). Aimed specifically at high-school students, the program educates youth on organ donation and transplantation. To date, the program has been delivered in over 65 schools in the Toronto area.
The Organ Project, together with Ashley’s Angels, joined the HSOI team in 2017. Our hope is to help the program reach youth in Toronto but to also work with other leading healthcare organizations to introduce the program in other cities across Canada.
Your organization’s involvement in The Organ Project has the potential to touch the lives of the thousands of Canadians in desperate need of an organ transplant. Together, we can raise awareness about the need to end the organ transplant waiting list and advocate for more Canadians to register as organ donors.
There are a number of ways your organization can partner with The Organ Project and help us on our mission, while achieving your own business objectives in the process.
We have a variety of community and national events annually, including The Organ Project Gala, which in 2018 returns to Toronto and brings together over 650 esteemed guests for an unforgettable evening of entertainment and stories about organ donation. We commit to working with you to develop a sponsorship program that exceeds your objectives to maximize your investment.
Work with us to shutout the organ donation waiting list while scoring a big win for your company.
Encourage employees, fans, students, alumni, volunteers to donate to The Organ Project by matching donations, fundraising challenges or encouraging and empowering them to volunteer at one of our events. We’re happy to work with you to customize a program that matches your objectives.
Have another organization you regularly compete with? Why not challenge them to an organ donor registration competition? We would be happy to set both organizations up on line with the tools necessary to raise awareness and encourage registration. We would also be happy to track your progress as you compete for the most registrations in a specific period.
